So much info on Fentanyl and I will do one more night after tonight on Fentanyl and I will transition to some other opioid info. A very frequent question I get asked is can you put things over the patch or cover it if it consistently falls off (i.e. tape etc.). Per Lexicomp, “the edges of the patch may be taped in place with first-aid tape. If there is continued difficult, an adhesive dressing like Bioclusive or Tegaderm may be applied.” With that being stated, we need to be mindful of heat as this can increase absorption and potentially increase risk of overdose (i.e. heating blanket, pad, etc.)
